The Oslo International Ammerud Open launched in 2026, evolving from the Ammerud Open tournament, which has been held for over 50 years and organized by Ammerud Basket. The tournament is a collaboration between several local basketball clubs to ensure smooth execution. This allows us to offer more teams the opportunity to participate in an annual basketball tournament in mid-June, serving as a fantastic season finale. In the long term, we aim to create a tournament that also attracts international teams, establishing an appealing meeting place for basketball enthusiasts from various countries and diverse cultures in Oslo. 2026 was a great tournament, featuring 177 teams and around 2,000 basketball players between the ages of 8 and 19.

The next tournament is planned for June 10-13 2027.

To ensure a smooth running of the tournament, it will be necessary to schedule some matches already on Thursday, June 10th from 5:00 PM. This will primarily apply to teams from the Oslo area. Teams planning to arrive in Oslo on Friday, June 11th will not be scheduled for any matches before 5:00 PM on Friday. The match schedule will be published approximately two weeks before the tournament begins.
